About Me
Hello there! I’m Mirko Jaws (born in 1994, Argentina), a baritone singer and guitarist currently living in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where I’m studying Jazz Vocals at Codarts. Now in my third year, my musical journey has led me to connect deeply with the timeless sound of crooners. I'm inspired by legends like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, and Antonio Jobim—artists whose emotive, rich voices still resonate with me today. I try to bring that same emotional depth to my own singing, blending traditional jazz with a contemporary flair.
I specialize in both singing and playing the guitar, and I’m involved in a few exciting projects that allow me to explore different styles:
Caminos Cruzados: A Latin trio where we focus on Cuban boleros and Brazilian bossa nova. I love bringing these classic standards to life with a fresh and soulful approach.
Mirko Jaws (Jazz) Quartet: A jazz quartet that features my original compositions (soon to be released) alongside some well-loved jazz standards. I’m heavily inspired by Cole Porter, one of my favorite composers, and my quartet reflects my deep passion for both performing and composing jazz.
Mirko Jaws Original: This is my solo project where I sing and play my own original compositions in Spanish. So far, I’ve released four singles on Spotify, and I’m excited to soon release a full album that reflects my evolving style and voice.
With my baritone voice and diverse musical background, I aim to bring a distinctive sound to every performance. Whether I’m playing with a trio, quartet, or performing solo, my goal is to connect with my audience on a deeper level, blending deep tradition with fresh innovation.
With heartfelt melodies,
Mirko Jaws
